Personal item

You can bring one small personal item on board to be placed under the seat in front. For example, 1 cross body bag, 1 small handbag or 1 laptop in a slim bag.

No personal-item dimensions published; counts toward the 7 kg International Economy limit. A separate 'underseat bag' (34cm (13in) height x 48cm (18in) width x 23cm (9in) depth) is only for premium cabins and domestic Economy/Business - NOT International Economy.

7 kg is the International Economy maximum for the allowance (overhead bag + personal item). International First/Business/Premium Economy: overhead + underseat + personal, 14 kg total, max 10 kg per item. Flights departing India: 1 overhead bag only. Jetstar flights booked via Qantas change to Priority Carry-on rules from 2 Feb 2027 (Jetstar-only).
